About the event

Our launch event this year is presented by Roger Mendham, an accredited lecturer of The Arts Society.

Roger will focus on local National Trust treasure Polesden Lacey, as a model to talk about the inventions and innovations that were coming to fruition in the first decade of the 20th century when Margaret Greville moved into her freshly modernised country house. In comparison with the vast majority of the country, Polesden Lacey was at the forefront of technical innovation and is an excellent example of the culmination of the developments in the Victorian era, where so many of the technologies we now take for granted have their roots.

Entrance is free but booking is required. Visit www.heritageopendays.org.uk/visiting/event/launch-event
