About the event
Between 1891 and 1894 the architect Philip Webb, a friend of William Morris designed Standen house for James Beale and his family. It is a fine example of Arts and Crafts Workmanship. The interior is decorated with Morris carpets, fabrics, wallpapers and furnishings.
The Arts and Crafts garden of 12 acres complements the beauty of the house. It has undergone a major restoration and now has an award-winning plant collection.
